Join a Growing Multidisciplinary Cancer Program in Coastal Maine
A well-established healthcare organization is seeking a fellowship-trained (or similarly experienced) Breast Surgical Oncologist to join a thriving multidisciplinary cancer team in a newly built cancer center located just 45 minutes from Portland, Maine.
This is an exceptional opportunity to become the primary breast surgical oncologist serving Maine’s second-largest urban population, with an extensive referral network that includes surrounding rural communities.
Position Highlights

* Fellowship-trained Breast Surgical Oncology preferred

Practice Details
* Approximately 175 new breast cancer patients annually
* Current operative volume of approximately 275 surgical cases per year
* Robust support from an experienced multidisciplinary oncology team
Multidisciplinary Team Includes
* 3 Medical Oncologists
* 2 Radiation Oncologists
* Comprehensive Breast Imaging Department
* Approximately 15,000 mammograms annually
* Breast MRI available on-site
* 2 Plastic Surgeons
* Lymphedema-certified Physical and Occupational Therapists
Dedicated Breast Surgery Support Staff
* 2 Front Desk Coordinators
* 2 Medical Assistants
* Surgical Scheduler
* Clinic Nurse
* Nurse Navigator
* Office-Based Nurse Practitioner
* Per-Diem Physician Assistant for Surgical Assistance
Advanced Surgical Resources
* Same-day implant-based breast reconstruction
* Nuclear medicine support for lymph node biopsies
* Intraoperative specimen radiography
* Magnetic seed localization
* Ultrasound-guided localization
* Indocyanine green (ICG) perfusion mapping

Candidate Qualifications
* MD or DO
* Board Certified/Board Eligible in General Surgery
* Fellowship training in Breast Surgical Oncology preferred
* Eligible for medical licensure in Maine
* Commitment to collaborative, patient-centered cancer care

Pay Transparency
Central Maine Medical Center offers competitive compensation and a reasonable compensation estimate for this role is $423,000 to $483,000. The exact starting compensation to be offered will be determined at the time of selecting an applicant for hire, in which a wide range of factors will be considered, including but not limited to, skillset, years of applicable experience, education, credentials and licensure.
